The extensive garden of this picturesque chateau is open to the public and boasts an unusual collection of trees.  You will also find art works here.  They have falconery displays and there is, of course, their winery for tasting and buying the estate’s wines.

Capital of the Pyrenées-Orientales  it is half Catalan, half French.  Its history is reflected in monuments such as  the Palace of the Kings of Majorca, the Cathedral and the Campo Santo (cloister cemetery). There are museums/ art galleries devoted to currency, and dolls amongst others,  with one located in the Notre Dame city gate.

The charming old centre of the city has  artisan as well as boutique shops. There are several markets, and of course a plethora of bar/ restaurants plus a calendar of events and festivals.  Aside from Catalan food and wine  Perpignan is famed for its garnets.
